Abstract: According to LIANG Qichao, the “debate between science and metaphysics” is a great intellectual controversy that “is to create a new era for Chinas academic circle”. Thirtyfive years after this debate, FENG Qi issued “On the socalled Debate between Science and Metaphysics”, criticizing the “school of metaphysics” and the “school of science” from the materialistic concept of history in Marxism. It was in order to solve the issue of the time that scientism is in opposition to humanism on the one hand and philosophical problems on the other that FENG constructed a theoretical system of wisdom with epistemology in a broad sense as its core.
