Abstract:
The Chinese literary trends in the recent two decades were not only historical witnesses of social life, but also represented writers' imaginations and feelings towards life by means of literature. The twenty - year literature went through a continuously evolutionary process. In it there emerged two contrasting periods-the "new - epoch" literature and the 1990' s literature, owing to changes of social and literary formations. During the former period humanist literature constituted a major trend, and during the latter the popular trend of literature became prevalent under the influence of commodity economy.
