Abstract: In the last hundred years, the study of classical Chinese stylistics has undergone a process from decline to revival, which is essentially a transformation from traditional Chinese stylistics to modern Chinese stylistics. The New Culture Movement and the practice of Reform and Opening up have constituted two significant turning points in this process. In the past century, foreign cultures and the new culture have made contribution to reconstruction while deconstructing traditional Chinese stylistics. In recent decades, the study of Chinese stylistics has returned to tradition at a higher level in the grand structure of world literature. This also reflects the fortune of traditional Chinese academic studies in modern China. The study of Chinese stylistics in the last century has borne the task of "continuing the endangering enterprise of predecessors" and that of "exploring new academic spheres" at the same time.
