Abstract: There are only three types of structure in Poya character system: pictographic character, associative compounds character and self-explanatory character, whose percentage is respectively 62.96%,30.86% and 6.17%. According to this situation, as well as the form, function and role of Poya characters, we can conclude that Poya character system is in the primary stage of the history of writing characters.
