Abstract: Zuo Zhuan (Zuo’s Commentary on Spring and Autumn) is not only a “classic” but also the only book of “history” in the “thirteen classics”. As the origin and source of Chinese historical writing, Zuo Zhuan implies “historical aesthetics”, which not only has had a profound influence on the development of Chinese historical writing, but also will help us overcome the absence of human beings in the shadow of things in current historical study.
