The Coherence of the Narrative at a Court Trial: A Cognitive Schemata Perspective

Abstract: Due to the complicated narrative process of a court trial, the coherence of the narrative presents complexity and multilayer. Previous researchers have focused on its chronological sequencing, logic sequencing, and thematic sequencing. Since any narrative act involves an exchange of information, an analysis of the coherence of the narrative at a court trial from the perspective of the prototype and its variations in cognitive schemata is conducive to the understanding of the fundamental features of the narrative at a court trial.
