Abstract:
The problem of the century - aged socialist practice is how to build socialism in an economically and culturally less developed country. In this aspect the most typical four quests were carried out by Lenin, Stalin, MAO Ze-dong, and DENG Xiao-ping respectively. The first three quests all obtained great achievements, and meanwhile had their own faults and profound lessons. The last quest achieved a historic breakthrough. And all of them are of significance in many respects.
Key words: the historical socialist problem, quest, enlightenment
