Abstract: Preface to Poems Composed near Waters on March 3, was one of writings by the Southern-dynasty man of letters Wang Rong. It follows strict orders in using classical allusions and employs complicated and graceful means of literary writing, thus constructing a multi-layer work full of architectural beauty. Through it we may have a better understanding of literature under the Southern Dynasty.
