Abstract

Taoyuan (Land of Peach Blossoms) is an image with profound influence created by intellectuals in ancient China. As an ideal land for living, "taoyuan" is of artistic charm with continuous new connotations for a thousand years. In an era with prosperous tourism, "taoyuan", as a classical image carrying abundant traditional cultural implications, has become a gold brand. This paper examines the landscapes of "taoyuan", its connotations and symbolic meanings, the types of Chinese fairyland landscapes and the social causes behind the prosperity of taoyuan landscapes.
