Abstract:

In the ideological trend of new historiography beginning from the early 20th century, both the reformists and the revolutionaries laid extreme emphasis on the social role of history. However, few studies have reflections on their deficiencies in the theory itself, and people often substitute politics and utility for authenticity and scholastic studies, thus leading to a tendency to seek for quick success and instant benefits and to vulgarize academic researches. This deflection has its own historical reasons, and is also a consequence of the long - established mode of thinking which insists that politics is the first criterion for evaluation.
