Abstract:

Nehru was a famous statesman in the middle of the 20^th century. His biggest legacy was his foreign policy of non-alignment. The basic meaning of non-alignment was to keep away from the power politics of groups that aligned against one another. The non-alignment policy became very popular when the two blocs confronted each other seriously. This policy depended on Indian situations of economy and politics. It embodied Nehru' s realistic diplomatic thought.
