Abstract:
In ancient China the information transmission was quite backward. It was not until the late Qing Dynasty that the trade of modern telecommunication emerged. This paper first reviews the establishment of modern Chinese telecommunication, then discusses how telegram infulenced the political scene of the late Qing Dynasty, and especially indicates that it was the telegram which was used by revolutionists to oppose the Qing Dynasty. This is the reason why the 1911 Revolution succeeded quickly.
