Abstract:

Researchers have pointed out the influence of The True Meaning of the Lord of Heaven on The Commentary on the Meanings of Terms in the Book of Mencius (Meng Zi Ziyi Shuzheng), but they laid special stress on the basis of historiography and were short of the basis of philosophy. Philosophically, Meng Zi Ziyi Shuzheng had the trace of direct or indirect influence of The True Meaning of the Lord of Heaven from its method to its principle. But the influence is not essentially different from the theological philosophy in The True Meaning of the Lord of Heaven. This is a philosophical reason why DAI Zhen had been influenced by The True Meaning of the Lord of Heaven, yet he didn't utter a single word about it.
