An Analysis of “the Flesh-body Bodhisattva” in Chinese Buddhism

Abstract: The flesh-body bodhisattva in Chinese Buddhism is a peculiar phenomenon. This paper makes an analysis of its background and significance from eight perspectives in order to reveal characteristics of Chinese Buddhism.
