Abstract

Abstract:

In the past 20^th century, mankind underwent a significant change from war to peace. The Western scholars have made systematic study of the causes, premises, and conditions for the change, which has deepened our understanding of peace. The study has given rise to peace research. Peace research includes violence research, causes of war research, crisis and conflict research, demilitarization research, etc. Peace here refers to the world peace, and it is different from peace research, although the two are related.
